Your Amazing Indian Wedding, Picking Your Photographer

Your wedding photographs are one of the most important aspects of your
wedding! They are the artwork that will be the only reflection of your
special day. So, it’s with great care and discernment that you much
choose your wedding photographer. Sure, your brother might take great
pictures but he’s no professional. For your wedding day, you want a
trained professional photographer who has years of experience and comes
with references, someone who’s specialty is wedding photography.

When selecting your wedding photographer consider the following:

•       The photographer needs proper time to take your pictures. If
your ceremony will be held between 2:00 and 3:00 in the afternoon and
the reception starts at 3:30, you’re only offering your photographer a
short amount of time to take those photographs and additional portraits!
This can be a challenge for photographers. Be considerate and smart –
schedule the reception so the photographer has at least one full hour
for portrait taking.
•       How in the world do you choose your photographer? There are so
many of them listed in your phone book or on the net. I suggest asking
your recently married friends who they used and whether or not they
recommend him/her. Interview about three to four of these photographers.
Ask each of the photographers you interview to see all pictures from a
few of their recent weddings.
•       Something to understand about larger “photography company.” You
may meet an excellent photographer during your interview, but a
completely different photographer shows up on your wedding day. Make
sure when you choose the photographer that he or she is the same
photographer who will be photographing your wedding!
•       Remember to budget a decent amount of money for your
photographer. And don’t choose a photographer based on which one is the
cheapest. Good photographers will charge you between $2,000 and $4,000
and sometime more depending on your requirements.
•       Choose a photographer who can take both traditional photos and
candid photographs.
•       Good photographers are busy, so don’t be put off if the
photographer you choose does not have your pictures ready the next day.
Good photographers are busy photographers…give him/her the time needed
to develop your proofs.
•       Can your photographer provide a video of your wedding and the
above applies to getting a video your are happy with.

Here are some important questions to ask photographers during your
interview process:

1.      Are you the only photographer in this company? If I hire you, am
I guaranteed that you will be the one showing up to shoot my wedding? If
yes, can I get that in writing?

2.      Will you be shooting color and will black and white images be
available?

3.      Do you do videography and may I see some recent samples of your
work?

4.      What coverage is included in your packages or will you charge
any extra fee all day coverage? Would you be willing to come early to
get shots of us (the couple) before the ceremony? Would there be a fee
for this?  Just asking will get you a few extras added in at not
additional cost.

5.      What cameras do you use, how many… And very important o you have
backup gear if something breaks?) Do you use film based or digital
cameras or a combination of both?

6.      Is there an extra fee if the wedding and reception are at more
than one place? Get clear on any extras and know when you ask for
something extra there may be extra fees involved.   Is there a charge
for this?

7.      Do you offer a website and CD of my images? If so, is this
included in the packages or this is an extra fee?

Take as much care in choosing your wedding photographer as you do
choosing the reception site and the food. Remember, after your special
day your photographs are what you will cherish and share for decades to
come.  Selecting the right photographer allows you to relax and enjoy
your wedding day to the fullest. Take comfort knowing that doing all
your homework will allow your wedding and your wedding photographs to
reflect all your joy!

Tiger woods is accepting treatment of  sex additction ,latest mistress appears ,we all believe that his marriage is over . Now wife Elin Nordegren  has put the plans on hold after visiting Tiger at sex rehab.

There has been mounting speculation of a divorce since Tiger Woods’ many alleged mistresses began to trickle out. One source in December said the “divorce is 100 percent on,” and Nordegren has been photographed without her wedding ring as early as mid-December (and as recently as yesterday).

If Woods is indeed at the Gentle Path rehab program and wants to shore up his marriage, he’ll have to tell Elin Nordegren about all of his affairs at the program’s “Disclosure Day.” If various reports are true, that means Woods would have to describe the early-morning office sex he allegedly had on a regular basis with 42-year-old British mother-of-two Emma Rotherham, in addition to the two porn stars, the Playboy model, the New York night club hostess, the cougar, the other mother, and multiple other women. This is, of course, if the alleged mistresses did indeed have affairs with Woods.Nike clubs is important or mistress to Tiger?I think mistress is more important to him.

It is still unclear whether Tiger is at the Mississippi sex rehab program. While fuzzy pictures seemed to suggest that Woods may be at the facility, further pictures debunked the veracity of the first batch.

A source tells People that Elin “wants to keep her family together even if she and Tiger live together as friends instead of lovers.” we can give us discount golf clubs . Children are innocent ,we should do our best to keep intact family .

What did the turkey say before it was roasted?
Boy! I’m stuffed!

Why did the Indian chief wear so many feathers?
To keep his wigwam….

What happened when the turkey got in a fight?
He got the stuffing knocked out of him!

Why did the police arrest the turkey?
They suspected it of fowl play!

Where did the first corn come from?
The stalk brought it….

How did the Mayflower show that it liked America?
It hugged the shoreline ….

What did the mother turkey say to her disobedient children?
If your father could see you now, he’d turn over in

Why was the Turkey the drummer in the band?
Because he had the drumsticks!

Hunt ghosts with the Ghosts, Mysteries & Legends tour of Old Fort Lauderdale, www.fortlauderdaleghosttours.com, Fort Lauderdale’s premier ghost tour. Ghost Guides introduce visitors and locals to Fort Lauderdale’s “other night life” as they walk along the banks of the New River in the city’s historic district.

The ghost tour takes guests to the city’s most haunted places right in the heart of downtown, where the Tequesta Indians lived when the Spanish Conquistadors arrived and where the city as we know it today began.

The tour’s chief ghost guide, Christian Rieger, says, “We concentrate our tour in the area where Fort Lauderdale started as a modern city – where the Flagler railroad came through in 1896.

”The freeze of 1895 that killed the citrus trees through central Florida, caused Henry Flagler to extend his Florida Eastcoast Railroad from Palm Beach to what is today Miami.

The city’s first hotel, built because the railroad’s coming through, was built next to the tracks at the river. Historians say that it is this area, where we have our ghost hunting, that the city, as we know it today, began.”

Ghost tour guides, wearing a cape, top hat and carrying a lantern, tell stories of the fabled New River, trading posts and 100 year-old mansions. Is the Ghost Train that speeds silently over the tracks the train that caused the death 500 people in the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935? Some locals who claim to have seen it think so.

Visitors on the tour will discover the mystery of the woman in the white wedding dress and why she stands alone on the balcony of the city’s oldest standing hotel building. Guides also tell tales of Seminole Indians that still haunt the river, the ghosts of early settlers, and the haunts of a popular restaurant.

”It is great family entertainment,” says Rieger, “something for the family to do after dinner besides watch television in the hotel room. It also works great for local families, because ghost tours are a clever way of introducing local history to children – a way of making history interesting and easy to listen to.”

”And bring your digital camera. We have had many guests who have photographed various images in the spirit world.”

A single picture is equivalent to a thousand words! And just imagine how effective will be the moving pictures then? I need not emphasize the efficiency of active media. We all know that videos are very effective in communicating a message in its right spirit. Hollywood and Bollywood as well as the television industry – all are well aware of this fact and are making the best use of videos. Everyday you see hundreds of videos as advertisements on TV, cinema and even on Internet. Then why not make use of this very effective media- the videos, particularly fashion videos – to lend you some style and oomph!

Fashion Videos- What are They and How to Use Them?

There are many categories of fashion videos

Event Videos- These are the videos of fashion shows and other fashion events. For example, video of Lakme Fashion Week or Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week etc. You can always keep track of such videos that are out within two or three days of the event. These shows usually showcase the fashion  trends for the coming season. As such, you have ample time to watch these videos and get your clothes stitched according to the latest designs and trends.

Video Tutorials- These videos teach you some or the other trick. For example, there can be videos on learning basic skills like how to wear sarees, how to sew salwar kameez, or how to do make up for a party etc. If you are a novice, say, in wearing a saree, you will definitely learn the skill faster than when you try to do it on your own. After all, step-by-step instructions with live videos can make you understand the whole process more easily.

Videos for New Fashion Concepts- There are creative minds in fashion industries too. In fact, fashion professionals are more creative than any other professionals as imagination is what spices up one’s personality. So, everyday one or the other things are invented like new ways of wrapping sarees, new style of wearing a bridal lehnga choli, or invention of waterproof salwar kameez! You can always use the ideas that are useful for you. For example, if you have to go to a friend’s wedding on a short notice and you are not able to custom made your lehenga choli, you will always learn to wrap a saree in ghagra style or in other novel ways like mermaid style etc. by watching a video that teaches to drape saree in novel ways.

Fashion Analytics Video- These videos take forward some fashion issues or clarify some misconceptions about fashion styles. For example, I watched a video that clarified that Indian sarees can always be worn by foreign nationals who think that saree doesn’t look good on their body types. The video also contained some fabulous photographs of American women in sarees- they actually looked stunning in saree! In this way the video helped in spreading the message that saree can look good on any woman of any country!

So, go ahead and use the fashion videos for making yourself some more trendy and fashionable! To start with, watch some of these Indian Women Clothing- Fashion Videos

There was little about domesticity in the twentieth century that was self-evident, especially in its last decades. That century witnessed a decline of the so-called “traditional nuclear family” which theoretically consisted of a male “provider”, his wife and their biological children.

According to Desmond F. McCarthy (1998), the number of American households that can be defined as traditional nuclear families “declined from 60 percent in 1955 to 7 percent in 1985″.  It is illogical to expect that traditionally-attributed gender roles can withstand such voracious changes. The decline of the traditional nuclear family has been accompanied by a diversification of household arrangements not only in the United States but in the whole world.

The very existence of these alternative households necessarily challenges traditional attitudes regarding “the proper role and place of women, the regulation of sexuality, the boundaries of families, and appropriate child-rearing environments and philosophies” (McCarthy, 1998, p.2).

Considering the traditional nuclear family as an ideal or historically permanent institution, we see that this notion is as imbued with much of the same degree of utopianism as the representations of “alternative” families in contemporary American fiction.

In twentieth century American literature we see illustrative instances of alternative domestic arrangements in novels by prestigious authors such as John Updike, John Irving, Alice Walker and E. L. Doctorow, to name a few. These writers have shown us that they clearly perceive this new world where domestic life has been radically altered, inevitably yielding new sorts of household complexities. However, differently from their antecessors in the previous centuries, each of these writers has achieved both critical and public acclaim. Some of their works are still among the most widely read novels of our times. Alice Walker’s The Color Purple and two of John Updike’s ‘rabbit’ novels have received the Pulitzer prize for fiction, one of the most important tokens of artistic talent recognition.

There is, naturally, confusion over the future of families and of family life as we know it. Some novelists are imagining compelling alternatives and are dealing with realistic and recognizable conflicts. In their depictions of new domestic arrangements they eliminate most of the traditional gender-based hierarchies.

According to poet and feminist critic Adrienne Rich, the intention of the artist is not simply to portray social realities in a realistic and convincing manner, but “to bring a skeptical consciousness and an unfettered imagination to bear upon these conditions–to conceive of alternatives…” (In: McCarthy, 1998, p.3).

A prime example of these alternatives can be found in one of the most celebrated breakthrough female writers of contemporary times. We can see in Jhumpa Lahiri a certain face of Domestic Fiction – definitely a new face – which is very much alive today, in this case, in a short story format.

In her book of stories Unaccustomed Earth Lahiri brings back – full throttle – issues on domestic ideology with a bittersweet flavor, something that strongly resembles the old and at the same time intertwines with the new. The first short story of this compilation is also called Unaccustomed Earth.

It is the story of Ruma, whose now retired father travels the world enjoying the benefits of freedom and old age. Ruma seems to follow her father’s each step by keeping “the printout of his flight information behind a magnet on the door of the refrigerator” (Lahiri, 2009, p. 3).

On the days he is scheduled to fly she watches the news on television in a casual yet careful search for information regarding plane crashes anywhere in the world – just as Stowe’s “women with faculty” would keep always up to date with news of the world and with the latest literature in the mid-nineteenth century.

An interesting observation is that the available evidence as to who exactly read fiction in the 1850s America points to females, Northern, urban and young (Goshgarian, 1992) – roughly one in ten Americans (at least the ones drawn from the population who kept servants or slaves). Thus the typical clientele of the popular novels would have been the wife or daughter of “a small capitalist, shopkeeper, company official, bureaucrat, or professional living in one of the larger Northern towns” (p. 41).

Ruma is the daughter of immigrants from India. She is thirty eight years old and is a lawyer. She is also an Indian-American married to a white American. They have a son – Akash – and another on the way. She lives in a new house she and her husband – Adam – have just bought in the Eastside of Seattle, Washington. They formerly lived in New York, in Brooklyn, and moved as a consequence of Adam’s job.

Over the telephone, her father suggests making a visit. Note Lahiri’s choices of environment. Ruma was making dinner in her new kitchen (p.4).The author makes it clear whose task it is to prepare the meals. After Ruma’s mother died, she was the one who assumed the duty of talking to her father every night asking him how his day had been. This hints us as to a sense of the perpetuating of female roles through the generations.

Lahiri portrays Adam, Ruma’s husband, as constantly away, many times for a whole week, mostly on business trips. It was rare when he spent two consecutive weeks at home and tagging along with him did not seem to be an option. He, nevertheless, encouraged his wife to hire a babysitter, even a “live-in” if it should be necessary. Since Ruma knew no one in Seattle the prospect of leaving a stranger with her small son seemed to be more daunting than taking care of him herself.

In her consciousness lied another issue – she was not working, and, for her, that meant nothing would justify paying someone for doing something she therefore had the freedom to do. “It was the house that was her work now” (p.6) – her chores included leafing through piles of catalogues that came in through the mail, marking them with post-its and ordering sheets with dragons on them for Akash. Here we can see some not so new or alternative household dispositions. On the other hand, the author reminds us that when Ruma worked, there were fifty-hour weeks and a six-figure paycheck.

Alas, Ruma does not seem to miss her husband so much as her mother, for she feels that her mother’s presence would have been the helpful one, doing as she knew best: taking over the kitchen, singing songs to Akash, teaching him Bengali nursery rhymes and throwing loads of laundry into the machine. Moreover, whenever she would compare herself with her mother there always seemed to be an ever-present feeling of inferiority involved. She could not imagine herself taking care of her father the way her mother did or serving the meals the same way she had. She was struggling with the idea of offering her father a place to stay, to live with them, in her house. Her father had, nevertheless, other ideas going on in his mind. During his travels he had met a Mrs. Bagchi, an Indian widow who lived in Long Island alone, who held a doctoral degree in statistics and taught, since the seventies, in Stony Brook University. That is the only description of another woman in the story.

Ruma’s conflicts extend to simple yet important everyday events. Lahiri reveals to us that  – “there were mornings [Ruma] wished she could simply get dressed and walk out the door, like Adam” (p.10). She could not understand how her mother had coped with all of this. While growing up, Ruma saw her mother moving to a foreign place – the United States – for the sake of marriage, caring exclusively for children and the household. In Ruma’s opinion, all of this had served as a warning, as a path not to take, yet this was the life she was living now.

Remains of Sentimental notions sometimes flood the narrative. Ruma held a framed photograph on her bedside table of her and Adam on her wedding day, slicing the white layered cake. Though his absences contributed to her isolation, she was beginning to wonder that it was, in fact, sometimes preferable to having him home constantly asking her about her state of mind or her mood. Even with Akash to care for she was beginning to prefer solitude.

Finally, the same father who, in the end, will not live with his daughter in order to pursue his very own renewed romantic interest, gives the readers the innovative and groundbreaking performance that follows, and with it, we see a fresh and new face of domesticity as I believe we have never had before.

Ruma’s father seems to be pretty handy around housework, something unthinkable for nineteenth century audiences, and hopefully not for twenty-first’s for that matter:

After finishing the dishes he dried them and then scrubbed and dried the inside of the sink, removing the food particles from the drainer. He put the leftovers away in the refrigerator, tied up the trash bag and put it into the large barrel he’d noticed in the driveway, made sure the doors were locked. He sat for a while at the kitchen table, fiddling with a saucepan whose handle –he’d noticed while washing it – was wobbly. He searched in the drawers for a screwdriver and, not finding one, accomplished the task with the tip of a steak knife (p.27).

With this narrative, Lahiri masterfully changes the face of Woman’s fiction – yet still preserves the characteristics that makes it a domestic story. This paper arose out of the intersection of two kinds of concerns: the first, a fascination for the incredibly – still – understudied history of domesticity in literature of English expression and second what I think to be the yet understudied status of domesticity in contemporary literature. To conclude, I believe one can safely say that, in an ever-changing manner, as long as there are families in a household, Domestic literature will live on indeterminably, even though no one knows what the future holds in store for us. Perhaps the angel-in-the-house is not dying, but simply, changing.

WHY IS SEA WATER VERY HIGH IN SALT CONTENT?

The average salinity of sea water is about 3.5%. One cubic mile of sea water contains 166 million tonne of salt. The salts of the sea come from the breaking up of rocks and gradual wearing away of mountains releasing salts that are washed down by rainwater. It is estimated that more than 400 million tonne of dissolved salts are brought to the sea every year by 27,000 cubic km of water. The second source of salt is rocks beneath the ocean bed. There has been a constant slow addition of sea salinity due to evaporation from the ocean surface, combined by discharge from land.

WHAT IS A CHEMICAL BOND? HOW IS IT FORMED?

A chemical bond is one in which atoms of different or same elements combine to become stable. There are two types of chemical bonds —electro-valent bond and covalent bond. In an electrovalent bond, a metal donates an electron to a non-metal and forms the bond. Such bonds are very strong. A covalent bond is formed between non-metals only. These are easy to break.

WHAT IS THIGMOTROPISM?

Thigmotropism is the growth of a plant around a support. Tropism is a phenomena by which a plant, usually climber like money plant and ivy, responds to a stimulus. Stems of the pea plant, for instance, are weak and have coil-like structures called tendrils. When tendrils approach a support (stick), a phytohormone called auxin is released in the side of the tendril away from the support. Auxin, a growth hormone, elongates the cells of that portion and makes it strong. The other portion, devoid of auxin, becomes weak and coils around the support.

WHY DO THE EYES OF SOME ANIMALS GLOW IN THE DARK?

Some animals have a special, reflective surface right behind their retinas, called the tapeturn lucidum, which helps animals see better in the dark. When light enters the eye, it hits a photoreceptor that transmits the information to the brain. But sometimes light doesn’t hit the photoreceptor, so the tapetum lucidum acts as a mirror to bounce it back for a second chance.

WHY DON’T WE FEEL THE TONES OF ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE?

Atmospheric pressure, which is about 1 kg per’sqcm of area, presses down on our body from all sides, but we don’t feel it as it is balanced by fluid pressure from inside our body We can feel the difference during rainy season or when we go. to places where atmospheric pressure is less, like hill stations, where due to higher fluid pressure, blood oozes out in blood vessels, making the skin over those pink. The reverse happens under water.

WHY DO FOOD PACKAGES CARRY KCAL WHEN THEY ACTUALLY SPECIFY CALORIES AND NOT KILO-CALORIES?

Kilocalories are commonly known as calories and abbreviated as kcal. One calorie (Kcal) has the same energy value as 4.186 kilojpules-(kJ), while one kilojoule is equivalent to 0.24 calories. One calorie contains the amount of energy that raises the temperature of one litre of water by 1 degree Celsius.

WHAT IS SPIDER SILK?

Spider silk, also known as gossamer, is a protein fibre spun by spiders. Spiders use their silk to make webs. They can also suspend themselves using it. Many small spiders use silk threads for ballooning, the scientific term for the dynamic kiting spiderlings (mostly) used for dispersal. They extrude several threads into the air and let themselves get carried away with upward winds.

WHAT IS A SICK-OUT?

Employees hope to put pressure on the company and force it to meet their demands.

WHAT IS UNBREAKABLE GLASS MADE OF, AND IS IT REALLY UNBREAKABLE?

The presence of micro cracks on the glass surface (called Griffith’s micro cracks) makes glass breakable under tension or impact. Such micro cracks are unavoidable as the glass surface comes under tension while cooling from a high temperature into various shapes. However, one can increase its impact resistance by various methods, so it can withstand even the impact of a bullet. The idea is to remove the surface micro cracks by chemical etching, or putting the glass surface under compression by physical or chemical toughening. One can even laminate two such toughened glass plates with resin in-between. These glasses are unbreakable, but when the threshold value is very high, it eventually breaks or cracks.

WHAT IS UNIVERSAL TIME COORDINATED?

Universal Time Coordinated (UTC) is a time standard based on International Atomic Time with leap seconds added at irregular intervals to compensate for the Earth’s slowing rotation. A leap second is a positive or negative one-second adjustment to the UTC scale that keeps it close to Mean Solar Time at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. The difference between UTC and Mean Solar Time is not allowed to exceed 0.9 seconds, so if high precision is not required, the general term Universal Time may be used. Time zones are expressed as positive or negative offsets from UTC. While each day contains 24 hours and each hour 60 minutes, the number of seconds in a minute can be 60,61 or 59.

HOW DO SENSOR DOORS WORK?

Sensor doors use motion sensors or presence sensors. The first are used to activate the door when it detects a moving object, such as a pedestrian or shopping cart. Motion sensors can distinguish between objects moving toward the door or away from it. They use microwave technology and utilize the Doppler Effect principle. The sensors emit a high frequency microwave signal — when the wave encounters a moving object, it bounces back and its frequency changes in proportion to the object’s speed; Presence sensors detect both moving and non-moving objects in the path of the door. Presence sensors use infrared technology — they emit an invisible pulsed light signal. The receiver looks for the reflected signal and reacts.

WHAT IS WEISURE?

WHO DISCOVERED COMETS? HOW IS THE TAIL FORMED?

Comets have been known to mankind since eons, hence it cannot be said that comets were discovered by any single individual. A comet, like planets and asteroids, orbits around the sun — with fee orbital period varying from a few years to thousands of years. A comet is formed of rock, ice, dust and a few frozen gases like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and methane. When a comet is close to the sun, the radiation from the sun causes the volatile matter in the comet to vaporize and spread out into space in the form of its tail, its dust particles and ions glowing due to sunlight falling on it.

WHAT IS HAY FEVER AND WHY IS IT SO CALLED?

Hay fever is a form of allergy belonging to a group of maladies including hives, asthma and skin problems caused by protein sensitization.During certain seasons, many plants, grasses release their pollens into the air in large quantities. A person is said to have hay fever when he/she is sensitive to these pollens and other substances present in the air. It is called hay fever because the symptoms of the disease appear during spring and fall in England.

HOW IS THE HEIGHT OF WATER TIDES PREDICTED?

As astronomical data is not sufficient to calculate tides, predictions are also based on actual tidal measurements in many areas, over ah extended period. A network of tide stations is equipped to take the following measurements every six minutes: tide levels, wind speed and direction, water current speeds, directions, air and water temperatures and barometric pressure. Stations that provide these daily predictions are called reference stations. Other stations are subordinate stations, which obtain predictions by applying a specific formula to this data. The formula is derived by observing how tides at the two stations related to one another in the past.

HOW DO SOLAR CELLS CONVERT SUNLIGHT INTO ELECTRICITY?

Solar cells use photovoltaic cells to convert sunlight directly into electricity by converting photons (light particles) into electrons (negatively charged particles). Photovoltaic cells are made of semiconductors and silicon, mixed with other material.

WHAT IS THE ORIGIN OF THE WORD COCKTAIL?

In Minsky’s view, periods of economic and financial stability lead to a lowering of investors’ risk aversion and a process of releveraging. Investors borrow excessively and push asset prices excessively high. In this process, there are three types of investors/borrowers. First, sound or hedge borrowers who can afford to pay on their own. Second, speculative borrowers who can only service interest payments out of their cash flows. Finally, there are Ponzi borrowers who can service neither interest nor principal payments, and need to keep on refinancing their debts.

WHAT IS A SINKING FUND?

It is a fund set aside as a means to repay funds borrowed through a bond issue. The issuer makes periodic payments to a trustee who retires part of the issue by purchasing the bonds in the open market. Rather than the issuer repaying the entire principal of a bond issue on the maturity date, another company buys back a portion of the issue annually, and usually at fixed par value or at the current market value of the bonds, whichever is less. From the investor’s point of view, a sinking fund adds safety to a corporate bond issue: with it, the issuing company is less likely to default on repayment.

WHY IS A SWINE FLU MASK CALLED N95?
Respirators or N95 masks can block 95% small particles that contain the H1N1 virus, which causes swine flu. These are expensive and can be used only for a single day. These masks are made of three layers of electrostaticallycharged microfibres, that block 95% particles, thus the name N95.

Basically, all the crystals bounce the light all around, so that it comes right back out of the snow pile. It does the same thing to all the different light frequencies, so all colours of light are bounced back out. The ‘colour’ of all the frequencies in the visible spectrum combined in equal measure is white, so this is the colour we see in snow.

Glamorous jobs come with a sort of personal fascination, one that has young children aspiring to fly high as an airline pilot, or make a career out of creating the perfect wedding as an event planner or one turns your house into a real bliss, of course an interior designer. Television and movies glamorize certain jobs, like news reader, anchor or a Reporter. The television debut of music channels (MTV, Channel V, Zee Music, B4U, VH1 etc) not only ushered in a new genre of entertainment for generation next, it also created a new breed of stars — veejays.

Being a very wide field, the scope of employment in tourism sector is very bright and the potential is still largely untapped. Career opportunities exist both in the public and private sector. In the public sector, there are opportunities in the Directorates and Departments of Tourism of the center and the state as Officers, information assistants, Tourist guides etc. Another good prospectus for qualified tourism professionals are in the private sector with travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, hotels, transport and cargo companies etc. The opening up of the skies to private airlines and their emerging tie-ups with foreign airlines has removed bottlenecks in the transport and communication network resulting in easy flow of domestic and foreign tourists in the country. Since this is a new area of employment, not many qualified and experienced people are available and the promotion prospectus are also very bright and rapid. After a few years of experience, One can also start their own business by handling all travel requirements of a client and gradually building up business, taking on additional employees.

In Tourism Industry, Guiding is also a good option. The Ministry of Tourism recognizes three types of guides- regional, state and local. A regional guide gets a two year renewable license from the Ministry of Tourism endorsed for life by the Archeological Survey of India. Guides give detailed information on the various monuments and artifacts and about the countries traditions and heritage.

Working in an airline, whether on the ground staff or in flight is an exciting option for many people these days. In the airlines, one can work as Traffic Assistance, Reservation and Counter Staff, Airhostess and flight pursers, Sales and Marketing staff and customer services. A course in travel and tourism or a qualification on Hotel management helps to get in. The jobs in airlines though challenging are glamorous and afford the possibility of traveling to exciting destinations. Free tickets for the family offered by some airlines are an added advantage. Domestic and international Airlines such as Air India, Indian airlines, Jet airways, Air Sahara, Aeroflot, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Singapore Airlines etc offer employment opportunities with attractive salaries and numerous benefits.

The hotel Industry is basically a service industry providing food and accommodation to the Visitors. It is one which requires a large amount of manpower, with a wide variety of skills. In India alone, about 1, 80,000 vacancies are expected to be filled within the next decade. An hotel offers career opportunities in its various departments such as Operations, Front office, House keeping, Food and Beverages, Accounting, Engineering/ Maintenance, Sales, Public relations and Security etc. One can enter this field through direct entry in some departments or through hotel management institutes. Any such company has professionals from the civil engineering, architectural engineering, interior decoration, business administration, accounts, and numerous construction specialists, besides a large number of staff for other various official and field jobs.

Thus, this sector is a grand provider of abundant diverse jobs, and immensely glamorous and lucrative careers. All these jobs are enchanting and allures youngsters a lot like and gives them a substantial chance to flourish in the world of glamour.

Lastly, I want to quote the words of a man who belongs to one the most glamorous fields, Prabal Pratap Singh, deputy editor, Aaj Tak. “I am a firm believer in the will to bring about changes. Youngsters nowadays are too practical to be just carried away by glamour and money. They have the fire in the belly to make a difference. This is one of the primary driving force for students to join the industry,”

But before you go for anything, Contemplate whether the glamour is just outward or it carries the full masti and everything you require. Whenever you decide your Career, the most important thing you need is proper counseling direct from the horse’s mouth as a person having an experience of working in any particular field can advise you better about the opportunities and challenges of that area. Because sometimes impulsive descisions based on mere glamour attached to it can cause troubles for you and career.

Some professions just seem inherently glamorous, as they involve perks like free world travel, company of celebrities, lot of exposure to new and modern world and exclusive party invites or the nature of the work simply commands esteem and excess flow of money.  It’s not that working a nine-to-five desk job is always dull. It can also gives you more flexibility, money and excitement because in most of the glamorous jobs, Working 70 hours or more a week is standard, and staying up all night to close a deal isn’t unusual.

Actually most of the time the excitement and fervour lies with the interest and attention you pay to any thing. And the fact behind these glamorous jobs is that the Competition for these jobs is extremely high, and breaking into the industry can be difficult for even the most talented newbies.

Inspite of all these facts, the craze for the glamour, name and fame is so much that youngsters are ready to face all the challenges of these jobs and are enthusiastically entering into this more exciting and adventurous world to convert their dreams into a pleasing reality.
